Model of The Parthenon at the British Museum

Creation of a scale model was part of the British Museum's scheme to make the Parthenon Gallery accessible to everyone. The model complements the tactile information panels, plaster casts of carvings of the Parthenon Frieze and part of a Doric Column that can be touched and explored by all.

The wooden scale model of the Parthenon is now installed in the re-ordered Gallery. An evaluation of the existing facilities was made and the Trust wrote a report on the work to be carried out. This has now been completed and a new audio guide installed which includes a description of the model.
